A co-worker of mine has a '63 Comet S-22 6cyl convertible, light blue, white top, automatic, with buckets, 90,000 miles, in what he calls "nice shape" (I haven't seen it yet). He asked me to take some digital pics of it for him this afternoon, so he can put it on Ebay. I begged him to give the Ford/Merc community first shot at it, to ensure that it won't get into the wrong hands.

He told me that he'd be glad to do that, but that he's unsure of it's actual value, and wouldn't know what to ask for it. It has been appraised for $8500, but we all know how subjective those appraisals can be.

I thought maybe you guys could help me to help him determine a fair asking price, and in return, he could offer it here for sale before it heads to the vultures! Thanks.

Well, I saw the car. It has some small rust bubbles, needs paint and interior work, but is solid. it does have a pretty new top, also. It's currently tagged and driven. I have digital pictures, but don't know how to get them posted here.
