should i change the whole spring perch on my upper control arms or just the bushings? ball joints are good but there is still some thumping going on over some bumps. shocks are good as well as tight. thanks

I'd swap the whole perch while you are in there, of course depending on the price difference. The new Ford perches come with rubber isolators for the springs that the originals (at least not mine) and aftermarket don't have. And it saves you the hassle of replacing bushings.

I think you can also get perches with urethane bushings already installed....If it were me I would go that route!!! It seems like that bushing is under alot of pressure and degrades somewhat quickly so I would suggest using the urethane....

Hit up a local (not chain) autoparts store and ask for Moog parts. IMHO you can't go wrong.

Moog is good.

They are the same as 1970 Mustang units. I bought mine 4 years ago from Ford, it's possible they are obsolete, but usually it's just the lazyness of the parts guy.

yes i did jim.... it was not perfect but real decent. this auto dealer kept out bidding me. therese and todd went to look at it. a project car not needing that much work. the owner said if the deal falls through, he'll sell it to me for 400 bucks. i guess he was taken with todd who i sent with his mom to check the car out. (i was in texas for a few days) hopefully the deal will go south. i think it went for 800 bucks. the guy is just gonna sell it to make money... how bad is that?
