I don't know about the Comet. We put a 351C in a 65 Falcon. It almost fit. The driver's side header bolts were about 1/2 inch from the shock tower ribs. However, one of the header bolts on the passenger side touched the largest rib in the tower. The spot was just about where the bolts came through the tower. We notched the towers as directed in the 460 project in FordMuscle.com. We then angled the notch a little further down on the one rib and inserted a gusset therein. No problem for my professional mechanic cousin. Your motor might fit without notching. But it will be hell to change the plugs without notching. There is also a big block tower kit sold by Crites restoration that should work. Also, the valve covers hit the power steering boster. Dual standard brakes will clear.

My cousin had the 351C, so we used it. If I was buying a motor for this, I would put a 351W in there.

I can get a 351c out of a wrecked car for cheap that why i asked, i wanted to orignally put in the 351W, but if this would work i would try it, but it sounds kinda difficult, what do you need to do to put a Windsor in? any modifications?

I can't give you any advice on the windsor, but I have heard it will fit easier. You might try contacting Crites Restoration; they are into comets. If the c is cheap enough and doesn't need a rebuild, I would give it a try; other than notching the shock towers (will take some cutting & welding) and gooving the motor mounts, it was a bolt in. I suggested the windsor because there are a lot more options for it these days.

Try listing your questions with a comet board. You can find a link at http://www.falconman.com.
