Well, I just started driving it again (still have the rough idle, I'll get to it in a couple weeks when I return from Detroit) and I'll say that it is very apparent the change from power steering to manual. But I was used to it before, and am getting used to it again. Of course I have a slower ratio than anything modern, which makes it easy to turn but requires A LOT of wheel turning. I actually think that the 16:1 you have (opposed to my 22.5:1 :eek will make it better, although your arms will get bigger.

I do mostly city driving and it doesn't bother me a bit. If you don't have to parallel park a lot or anything I'd say its a no-brainer. I hope that if you do the swap you will agree though.

well, you know me, the computer tech job doesn't give me much of a workout, yet another reason the idea sounds good.
I'm not that big of a guy, this would help... lol

Its a formula-style racecar built from scratch (YES, everything except wheels/tires, engine, and calipers/m.c. is built by us in our own shop, we even build our own EFI system), University student design project. Its totally extracurricular (no class credit) and unfunded by the university (private sponsors, of course the university gives us a shop to work in).
