Did anyone see the concept drawings in the latest Hot Rod where some kid styled a new Mustang to look like a '70 Cougar? Holy cow did that look nice!

I hope Ford sees that and builds them!

I think the drawing was in Hot Rod, it kind of looked like a white '70 Eliminator. I bet Ford would sell as many of those as they could build.

I was talking to our local Ford-Mercury dealer the other day. He would love to see them bring the Cougar back, based off the Mustang. The one idea he had that I liked is styling like the 70, and stretch it a little, so there could be a little room in the back seat, and to help differenciate it from the Mustang. Offer it in 3 levels:

Base - 6 Cylinder

XR-7 - Basically the Mustang GT Running gear.

Eliminator - Not quite as fast as teh Shelby, but you could have SVT have some fun!

It would definately be something to bring folks into Mercury dealers! Plus, since the Mustang basically is on it's own platform, it makes sense for Ford to try to get another model on that same platform.

i went online to try and find the drawing in hot rod and couldn't.... tried a gooooooogle on it and still did not find anything... dang!!

it would be very cool if the cats could prowl again....

when we were shopping around for our super coupe i kept hoping we would find one of the [comparable] super-cats ..... kv found a few but they did not have all the comfort extras we ended up getting in our bird.....
