Topic: Help? What's this tank? 68 Cat

I found this tank bolted under the left fender on a 68 390 4V, but a 289 2V parts car I have doesn't have one. It had about three feet of rubber hose attached to it, not hoooked up to anything. Anyone know what it is?

That should be the vacumn resevoir tank for the headlights.Most have long since rotted away or sprung a leak and been removed..Cory ------------------

Really? Wow. I thought that would have two hoses, and look like the standard ones for tilt column and AC. Thanks!

Tilt and A/C usually use the small cans.Tilt cans have 2 hoses and A/C i think uses one hose.I have the schematics here some where.I'll look....(I have had 3 69 cougars)Cory ------------------

Just checked my schematic (1970) It shows one fitting only on the Headlight door reservoir and two fittings on the A/C reservoir.The single hose goes to the check valve..Cory ------------------
