Hello out there, My 70 Cougar radiator sprang a leak. Took it to a radiator shop and he cleaned it real good. After cleaning it, he said that it was leaking all over the place. He says if he repaired it, it would no longer be able to cool the car properly. He has a new one for $350. Kinda high ain't it? Talked to another shop and will be taking the radiator to him to have a look at it. He says if it is shot as the other guy says, that he can get me a new one for $250. Is this about right? Anybody out there got a deal or some advice on a radiator?? Car is a 1970 with 351C 2v, auto trans. with A/C. Car is stock. Thanks!!------------------ 70 351 Cougar 68 289 Mustang 70 340 Challenger R/T 65 H.D. Panhead Chopper 8 Kids, 1 Wife, No Peace

Just make sure they are not trying to sell you an off-shore universal fit radiator.I would ask them the price of a recore with a premium core.

A good shop would just take your top/bottom tanks & do a recore. Thats what EDJ radiators did with mine, they used my top tank, got another, wider bottom tank from Modine/GDI? i think was the name & made my 2 core into a 3 core -Total cost $220.00 & my temp gauge reads 165 all day!
