i have a small window of opp. to buy this before all his cars go to estate sale.
I;ve never even seen one of these before so any info. greatly appreciated.
69 Cougar Eliminator
351 Cleveland -4 gear
air is only option i can confirm, he tells me it has "sport' suspension.
Ford 8-track player!!
Showing 64,000 miles & it looks solid so i think this is a real number.
orig. owner took Cleveland out & installed a 351 windsor for cruising, clevor is stored in a big bag.

Not sure what to want to know but aside from the scoop and spoilers....
Dash and seats are unique to Eliminator..
Taillight chrome and grille are blacked out
I restored a 351 Elimimator years ago and have a few pics...
Never seen a 69 Elim with a 351C only the windsor..guess its possible tho if its late in the year production...
I would not hesitate to buy it if its a real one.Without a doubt my favorite Cougar,I have owned three 69s

I would agree....but past experience with Cougars leads me to believe they will some times sweep the floor and use what they have on hand..
I have seen 68s with 302 2Vs in them but are coded for 289s and I have seen 70s with 351 4V Ws in them when they should have 351 4V Cs..
That being said the 351C is indeed a 1970 and up engine and I would question a 69 car that had one...

Hey, this guy , is not a car guy, although a collector if you know what i mean.
I;m going over between Christmas & NY.s to get #;s off door plate, engine.
you know, i thought it was a 70, so maybe thats it.
For $4500 i think i might just buy it & take my chances, as i said its in very , very clean shape as is the 68 Mustang, that has "California special" badging, another new one to me.
I;ll post part #;s if thats OK & see what comes up,
Thnaks for the quick replies!

If it's in solid shape there's no way you could go wrong at $4000. Good luck!

Hi Kwazy, last time we spoke i think your ass of a boy friend had stolen all your belongings, sorry to bring up bad memories, but, i;ll bet you find it funny now! Oh, God, don;t tell me your back together or i;ll feel like a real ass!
Anyway, the deal is if i can help this guy sell off his "collection" of cars.(68 Comet GT, 68 Mustang California special, 64 Dodge ram with 426 power & Dana rear,& a shed full of early stang parts that i;m going to go through tomorrow) he wil give me a super deal on the Eliminator & the original 351C that is stored for it, plus, he has 3 more 351C's all bagged up just waitng for me to do something with. So, i;ve spent the last few days gleaning all the info i can on 351C's, this site has been particularly helpful & trying to find info on 70 Cougar Eliminators. There sure doesn;t seem to be many around & up here they are literaly unheard of. I;ve put off the C-4/gear Vendors swap for my Fairlane, so i can pull off getting the Cougar & a Cleveland or two!
He;s a realy nice guy who had set up a mechanic/body man in a little restoration business & then the guy walked on him. He has his own thriving business unrelated to cars so just wants all this stuff gone, hopefully for what he invested.
Since my wife passed away in May 2004( she was only 40) ,i;ve been looking for something to do, so timing is perfect as i;m getting pretty tired of looking after 4 boys & being housebound! Not that i don;t love em to death but, my business pretty well runs itself now & my wife, thank God, was a financial wiz (if it had been up to me i;d just have like 100 cars) so i have way to much time on my hands.
So, instead of sitting around feeling sorry for myself i,m hopefully going to have a new car to rip into with my boys.
Anyway, didn;t mean to go on & on so much, can you tell i don;t have much contact with adults?
Ill let you know how it all works out
Roger in Mt. albert

Great to hear from you & glad your doing well, i;m going to need your guys expertise as i delve into these 351C's & the Eliminator. I;m actualy surprised on how cheap there going for, in comparison to say, an equal model Mustang, i guess they are still kind of the black sheep of the Ford family, or identity crisis, are they a muscle car, a luxury car? good time to buy, i think.
