Hello, Well two days after getting the cat, the drivers side door will not open. Door lock sort of acts like it is in between locked and unlocked. Also, when trying to open it from outside the latch has no resistance. It just pushes in like it is not "catching" anything. I guess it will be off with the door panel. Is there an easy way or "trick" to getting it off without tearing it up? Attached with clips? Remember, door is closed. Any other advice?

Thanks!!

Sounds like the linkage inside the door came apart. Never been into a cougar door though.

Someone will be here who can help though I'm sure.

I have seen this before on numerous cars.Door latch gets stuck between locked and un-locked.If i am correct the door lock button also feels like it is not coming up all the way when you pull it up...

In a fairly rapid and stern motion keep trying the door lock button and it will eventually come up all the way and you will be able to open the door..

Latch is probably the same as Mustang...

If the above doesn't work:

What I've done before in this situation is roll the window down and look inside the window opening with a flash light and trip the latch open with a stiff wire or long thin screwdriver. {some cars have better access than others} Then take off the panel until you fix the problem because it will happen again until you do.
