I have a 94 cougar with the 4.6L engine.
When is working at idle speed or below 2500rpm the pressure gauge is o.k. but above that value the oil pressure begins to go down until the red check gauges goes on.Does anybody knows what is happening? Thanks.

Sounds like a drainback problem. I'd pull the valvecovers and see if the drainback holes in the heads are plugged.------------------
