What do the 4 switches on the dash of the XR7's do? How do they work? I always thought they looked cool, but I can't imagine 4 things you'd need toggle switches for.

On my 70 they control the map light, conveinence lights (under dash & door), the opera/pillar lights, and the line lock (factory didn't use on mine but some are for convertible top or rear defog)

So what would the 4th switch have been for if you didn't have defrost or power top?

Do the courtesy lights still come on when you open the door?

I guess you can't turn the headlight switch counterclockwise to turn on the courtesy lights?

On my car the switch wasn't used. Yes the convienence lights and pillar lights light when you open the door. The headlight dome light doesn't control any lights in my car. BTW my car is pretty clean and had no modifications to the wiring harness when I got it, I'm the 3rd owner.

That's funny the 4th switch didn't do anything. Thanks for the insight!

My car is torn apart at my buddy's garage for it's race car transformation. Its a 69 XR-7. I think one of the toggle switches was for the A/C, but I will have to double check. I was orginally thinking about keeping the car on the street, and was going to use an extra toggle to activate the overdrive for an AOD. But racing bug hit hard again!!
