Oooo ... my first post here! I hope this doesn't upset any of you Cougar folks, but here's the deal.
I took delivery of a 68 Cougar yesterday. It's not a parts car, so I want to keep it whole and resell it some day. But I'm looking to swap parts over to my 68 Stang, specifically parts which are better on the Cougar than on the Stang, or simply weren't installed on the Stang.
The tranny damper I know about - there's none on the Stang.
I read somewhere that the Cougar strut rods are a better design, but the ones on my Cougar look the same as the ones on the Stang. Anyone know the story?
Any other juicy parts I should look out for that will make my Stang drive like a Cougar?
Thanks,
Simon

The 67 cougars had an articulated strut (2piece) but most people who are not doing a concourse restoration remove them for the 68 style. Other than that I would say the stang and cougar struts are the same. Ever have one break on you...not a fun ride!!!

Interesting. Thanks John.
I also thought I'd read somewhere that Cougars had better ratio steering boxes, but my Cougar and my Stang are both 1:16. Anyone know anything about that myth?

OK, here's one! 67 Mustangs and Cougars with AC, and 68 Cougars with AC, had clutch fans which were discontinued in 68 on Mustangs. However, they were still used on 68 GT350s. So my 68 Mustang now has a Shelby fan
