Now that I'm back, ain't No ONE getting any rest!! It's about my '69, it once upon a time had a vinyl top, is that an XR7 feature? Living here in Hadies, would it be a good idea to put it back to original or just a repaint like before? I'm afraid these dry conditions would kill it before it's time.

My cat is a california car and the top was shot when I removed it. I think its all up to you, if you like the vinyl put it back on. Even if the sun takes its toll you can delay problems with proper care. I think applying a good vinyl dressing on a regular basis could help it last longer. If you decide not to reinstall it you will have additional body work to do, they do not do as good of a job on the seams when a vinyl top is going on. Thanks John, I have to agree with you on proper care. It didn't have a vinyl top when i bought it and now that all the bondo is gone, I can see all the little holes where the top was on there. I'm thinking I'll just repaint as it has a sunroof on it too.
