One of the original teams that got Cougar funny cars (the first flip tops) was the Kenz and Leslie group in Denver. The car was a tube chassis with the flip top fiberglass cougar body, a cammer and a C6 transmission. It was driven by Ron Leslie. The last time I toured the K&L facilities (about 20 years ago) they still had the car and one or more spare cammers. It is in a small collection of company race cars that they occasionally let tour groups see. I don't know if they still have the collection but the company is still in business.Back in the 60's it was a competitive funny car but I don't think they traveled much. John

If we are talking original cats I would have to vote for a 68 GTE with a 427 4 sp 2nd up is the 428cj cats but don't under estimate any cat you see putting up the road, there could be an fe lurking under the hood waiting to pounce....lol John wvcat------------------ Thanks John (wvcat) http://www.geocities.com/wvxr7cougar/wvcat_01.html?989286238390 70 XR7 Restomod...wvcat 66 coupe project...she needs a name!!!

Nice car. The changeover for the Hurst shifter was probably 1970 like with the Mustangs. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com
