I just found out that a friend of mine that races stock and superstock aquired and 68 GT-E "W" code car. It is in baskets, but mostly complete. It has a 6-13 build date! That's right a 6-13 of 1968 build date! This car will soon have some Kevin Marti documentation, but we believe that it is the absolute last 427 powered FoMoCo ever produced!!!!! ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA/MCA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."

Yes, all of the 427 GT-E Cougars were automatics. It is confirmed, my friend Bill Howell who races in NHRA/IHRA stock with a 70 one owner 428 CJ Mustang, and his daughter races in superstock with a 93 Cobra (with one of my old 289's) has the last factory produced 427 powered FoMoCo vehicle. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA/MCA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."

A full blown restoration. I just located him a missing cylinder head and a rather expensive correct Holley carb. We believe that the reason the car was such a late production (June 1968) is that it was awaiting a very limited Daytona two speed rear axle. Also it appears as if the car was ordered by a high ranking FoMoCo executive. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA/MCA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."

Looks like Bill is selling the car in the same condition he bought it, although he has most parts for an engine. Here's the link:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1862509176&rd=1 Something not mentioned in the text is the fact that the roof has serious damage from someone walking on it and should be replaced.
