 i checked with my techical advisor and dad says that "...physically the two are interchangeable. The Cougar had a clock option that was exclusive to it. The Mustang did not have the clock
 option. "

 You're absolutely right.  The center console on 67/68 XR-7 Cougars had a clock, while the console on "Standard"(non-XR7) Cougars had a roll-up door.  In both models, the console was an optional item, although most Cougars had one. ------------------Dan
