eh, i figured no one ever posts anything here so i will.
i put a new McLeod clutch in my cougar.
took me 2 days..5 hours each day. and i had a pretty good record for injuries. i didnt hurt myself....until...i got it all put together, and i tore off down the street through first and second....then one of the clips that holds the shift linkage to the shifter broke.so i was down the street under the car again..and it happened.
SSSSSSSSSSSS..........i burned my arm pretty bad on the collector..thats what i get for lowering the car 2 1/2 inches, its hard to fit myself under there without jacking it up...but anyways i ended up driving the car home in second and fixing it here...so i burned myself for nothing.
anyways, the moral of the story is....i forgot.... but al least it was about my cougar.

Sounds like something I would (and have) done! I have tried tightening the header bolts right after the engine quit running before. Why? Because I was thinking about it at the time!I have been spoiled the last 6 or so years by driving a lifted F150. Easy to get underneath to work on! Good luck with your cougar! Tom ------------------

hi guys...i am such the slacker moderator these days... but i promise, once i am working again and back into some semblance of a routine, i will be here much much more.... as it is, i am so determined to stay busy i find all kinds of other stuff to do besides be online.... shame on me..... what the heck am i thinking!!! thank you for posting and replying.... i miss being around.... kk
