Ok, I'm in the process of installing "factory air conditioning" on my 67 Cougar that did not come with factory air.My question concerns the "coffee can" canister that goes under the right front fender. I think it mounts below the place where the hood hinge bolts through. There are a couple of indentions there but I just need to know exactly where to mount it. Does anyone know the answer to this? Ben

hi ben!sorry this took so long to get...i consulted with baby bro david and here is his response: ~~~~ if you are installing a "factory type" ac system...then yes the "vacuum resivoire"....or what some people call the ...coffee can...mounts just below the right hood hinge via two screws(I think 1/4-20") and approximately a 1" hole for the vacuum ports...one going to manifold vacuum port, and the smaller going to the "heat/air controls"...all this does is maintain a constant vacuum on the control system so when the engine is accelerated....you still have a resivoire of vacuum to operate the controls...(or the vacuum motors on the system)...................if you are installing an underdash type, it is self contained as far as the controls and you don't have any vacuum involved..............david ~~~ i hope this helps you! kaylin
