Ok guys, It's been awhile. Here's the deal; I sold the 83 T-bird and am now working on my 2000 mustang. I work for Anderson City Fleet Maint. and have recently recieved a 2001 4.6L Police Interceptor motor. My mustang has a 3.8L in it now. As far as I know the 4.6L Police Interceptor has a stock 4.6L in it. But I've been told that the vin for the stock 4.6 is 9, the vin code for the Interceptor motor is a W. Anyone know why? Can anyone tell me what is different about a Stock 4.6, and a Police 4.6? I'm also planing on building the motor, (at first I was going to hot rod it, but now I'm thinking more of back to stock, maybe oversized pistions or flat tops to raise compression a little.) Any info on what it's going to take to do the swap, and on the differences in the motors would be greatfully appriciated.
