Some might remember a recent post about my GT having some sort of rear axle problem...the insides of the rear tires were wearing very quickly, and I wanted to know what was up.Well, today it got taken care of...partly in thanks to a flat tire at 2:00 this morning (who knew a flat tire could be a good thing?).
Started last night...I did a bit of a burnout in front of some friends last night (they egged me on, think I'd refuse? LOL), and when I came back to them, one of my buddies informed me that the tire actually sparked. We thought that was weird. A few hours later, we left...I was heading out of Baltimore; it was about quarter of 2 at this point...I hear a thumping from the rear right tire. Flat. There was a screw at the corner of the tread and sidewall, and a 2" split in the sidewall. Doh.
Went to the tire shop this morning and had them check the alignment out all around, and to get at least one new tire (getting the other 3 on Friday...they had to be ordered). Turns out my toe was a bit out of whack, so it was kinda dragging the rear of the car along. All that's fixed, so I should be set. I just hope the other rear tire can hold till the new tires come in on Friday...cords are starting to show on the inside of the tread! Not good!
