Hi, Friend of mine bought a really nice 2004 with a V6 that had dual exhaust and dual cats added to it(whoever did it was no hack, and did a real nice job). After driving it a couple weeks the check engine light comes on. Shop said bad 02 sensor and replaced it, resets computer. Couple more weeks, light comes on again. Shop says it is likely exhaust flow volume in 2 pipes not making computer happy and that Ford is no stranger to that problem even w/o exhaust enhancement. Shop ordered an 02 sensor eliminator and installed, resets computer, but after a couple weeks the light is on again. Now shop is talking about re-programming computer. Can't light just be disabled since car has full gauges anyway? How can bulb be removed? Or is there any other way to get rid of annoying light. Car runs great all the time and computer has no other code issues but it keeps thinking 02 sensor has a problem, presumably because of exhaust mod's.. Thoughts? Thanks, Mike

I don't know what the emmissions inspections are like where you are, but here, if they pick up one code from the OBD Computer, you fail. For whatever reason, the computer may not like the cats that were installed. My girlfriend recently went through something like that on her Impala that it was constantly giving us O2 Sensor failures, but a garage removed the guts from the cats.------------------ Greg W. You need to make sure he put in a mil eliminator for each O2 sensor and not just the one that was complaining.
