On a 99 gt what would a stock one do in a 1/4 mile? In loudness would you go long tubes with a o/r x pipe or shorties with an o/r x pipe and then follow it up by borla cat back stingers. what kind of supercharger would you put on it then what would it do in a 1/4 mile? And finally what kind of gears should you run in a 5 speed for both ok highway and great track times. I hear 4.10 but what do you think. Thanks in advance and any sound clips of the stingers would be nice I have bought them yet but I want the loudest I can buy

Don't have any answers on the 1/4 mile stuff, but there is a website I've been looking at that has lots of Mustang soundclips. It's MustangExhaust.com I'm in kind of the same boat as I'd like a new cat-back for my 99 GT ...... I can't even hear it running next to the 66 I may just wait until I can hear the Borla or Bassanni system in person as I'm not overly impressed with some of the sound clip quality.

Moter Trend says the 1/4 mile time is 14.0. Road & Track says it's 14.5 in stock form.

Long tubes, but remember that they're harder to put in.

Kenne Belle is popular. Paxton has some good ones. Guessing on what that would do to your 1/4 mile times, because there's not enough detail in that. How much boost? Intercooled? My Saleen is basically a Mustang GT with a SC (8 psi intercooled). It has Bassani x-pipe and Magnaflow cat back. It'll run 12.9 in the 1/4, so that's a ball park.

3.73 vs. 4.10 gears is all a matter of taste. Some that have 3.73's regret not going to the 4.10's and some that have the 4.10's wish they'd have stayed with 3.73's. 4.10's are steep if you do a lot of highway driving. If it were me, I'd go with 3.73's, but I might regret it!

Can't help you with the Stingers.

if i wanted go as fast as i cuold and still be able to drive it id go with 410s or maby 430s dont forget that ford makes the mustangs trans a little more overdriven in 5th gear so you may like the 410 better i had a 95 gt with 410 and my wife drove it to work vevry day about 20 miles and we even took it on vacation i have drove cars that had 456s in it on the street but youll use a lot of gas with thoes i dont reckamend that. and im going to say it will take a full sec
off your time and if you go with a kenny bell it
might take a little more

Quarter mile times for a stock GT should be in the low 14 second range. The fastest I've gotten mine is 14.3 @ 100 mph. The key is in launching. If you're a good driver, you should be able to cut a 14.1 or 14.0. Throw some DR's on there, and you could even see high 13s.

Dunno about the exhaust setup...though I've heard Borla stingers sound terrible on a GT. I love my Bassani cat-back...nice and throaty, and not too loud. I once heard a 2001 GT with a full Bassani setup (shorty header, O/R X-pipe, cat-back), and it sounded *wicked*. I thought the guy had cams in it...I loved that sound. Yet, not something I'd want on my car. Check out http://www.mustangexhaust.com for various sound clips of different exhaust setups.

4.10s would be good, but 3.73s wouldn't be too bad either. With the 3.73s, you can keep the streetability.

A supercharger ought to put you well into the 12s, but unless you're thinking of building up the bottom end, don't go too crazy with the boost. 8 PSI is about the max a stock 4.6 can handle. Anything beyond that, it'd be a very good idea to build the bottom end up with stronger internals (ie, forged).
