Does anybody have any idea what would cause the insides of my *rear* tires to wear prematurely? It's a solid axle, so it can't really be a camber issue...what the heck could be going on?

Unless the housing is not straight, an alignment shop should be able to check it.

Yeah, some places do a 4 wheel alignment, which makes way more sense than just the front anyway.

I had a place tell me my 68 was out of alignment in the back. I asked him to point out where the adjustment points were to fix it and he just gave me a blank stare.

I'm with the others here Frank, 4 wheel alignment is probably in order.

BTW, how many miles you have on that car/tires now?

I know, I'm wondering how an adjustment is possible on the SOLID rear? Though I did some looking, and something gets done to the front suspension to put the rear in check...a lot more measurements and what not are taken in a full 4-wheel alignment.

Anyway...the car has a little over 34K miles on it now. The front tires are still the original tires...I did the rear tires about 6 months ago because of this rear end issue. Once I get this taken care of, it'll be time for a new set of shoes all around...the fronts are just about done.
