Trying to see if anybody else has encountered this problem before I start replacing stuff. On my '95, the dash lights (gauges, A/C, etc) don't turn on every once in a while. I can turn the headlight switch off and back on, and that might fix it, or gently hit the top of the dash and they come on. Last night they turned off by themselves while driving, tap the dash, they came back. Any ideas, I don't want to just tear into the dash w/o knowing where to look. I was thinking headlight switch maybe, or a loose wire. Anybody else encounter this?------------------ Gary M '70 Mustang 63b SportsRoof '95 Mustang GT coupe and 5 more classic Fords [This message has been edited by 70SportsRoof (edited 01-30-2006).]

There's a pretty good chance it's in the light switch. My '98 hasn't had any problems with that, but I've had dash light rheostats go bad on a '75 Ford pickup and on my '87 Mustang. I haven't had one of the newer ones apart, but you might be able to use some electrical cleaner to see if there's junk in there. Your other (easier and more expensive) option would be to just get a different one. Good luck!
