On my '95 GT, when the temp outside goes up, I notice the alt output (according to dash gauge) goes down. I would estimate from the dash gauge, about 10.5 volts, or there abouts. The only effect I have noticed is that as the same time, if I hit the gas too hard from a dead stop the car stumbles and doesn't respond like it should. If I don't hit the gas as hard, no problem. Any ideas? With the electronics in todays cars I could see how low voltage output could affect the engine performance. What would be affected by the outside temps? The alt is fairly new, although an AutoZone rebuilt one Any help or suggetions would be appreciated.------------------ Gary M 2 '46 Ford 1/2 tons, '47 1 ton, '57 Fairlane 500, '70 Mustang 63B SportsRoof, '95 Mustang GT coupe [This message has been edited by 70SportsRoof (edited 10-01-2005).]

That's probably the problem right there. Has it died yet? I guy I know that runs a garage says he has about a 40% failure rate on the rebuilt alternators he installs, he claims it doesn't matter where he buys them. Since your promblem seems to be heat related, I wonder if one of your cables has too much resistance or a loose connection? ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip '05 Mercury Sable LS 3.0L DOHC 24V Duratech V6
