I just replaced my leaking plastic intake manifold on my 99mustang GT for a new one with the aluminum thermo housing. I put everthing back the way it was altinater and all, I even used the correct torque(some coolant leaked in to the block but i vaccumed it out). After I finished I tried to start it and the motor just locks, It Keeps locking like something is stopping the motor. Its almost like someone dropped a wrench in the motor. Help what do I do!!!!!!

Try pulling all the spark plugs and crank it over. Sounds like you have water in one or some of the cylinders.

Uh oh!! Can you say HYDROLOCK?? Whatever you do, DON'T KEEP HITTING THAT STARTER!!!!!! lg57 is right, you do have coolant in one or more of the cylinders and the starter motor is plenty strong enough to bend a piston rod.....I hope I don't need to tell you what that means! (knock, knock) Pull ALL of your spark plugs and blow the cylinders out with compressed air. Then, turn the motor over and hope and pray!!
I know hindsight is 20/20, but when performing this repair/TSB, the FIRST thing you should have done was drain the radiator below the level of the heads. I've seen this about 5 times at the dealership. I don't want to scare you or anything, but one guy brought his '98 Grand Marquis into the dealership for a knocking sound. The engine tech noticed the BRAND NEW intake manifold and knew right off the bat what was wrong. The guy is still trying to get the shop that put the intake on to pay for his new engine.
