Well, alot of people it seems are takin' off their stock superchargers and puttin' on a Kenny Bell one. And since my dad just bought his 98 Cobra, he wants to jump on the bandwagon of takin' the old superchargers of their hands.
Will the one from the Lightning fit the 4.6? And the newer Cobra one would be a bolt on as well right?
Also, what kind of numbers would he be lookin' at if he were to get the new Cobra supercharger?
Thanks!
Luke

I am inclined to say it will work; might take a little doing...I've seen pictures of a '03 Cobra blower bolted onto a '99 and '01 Cobra.

I'd think the only thing to watch out for is how much boost will be ran. The '03s and '04s are the only Cobras with forged internals, so they're built for boost. The earlier ones aren't. Though, in stock form, I believe the blower is only about 8 psi. That *should* be safe for an earlier one.

Ahh, its got the.. Hyper..eurotic? I can never remember that word.. thats the type of pistons it has though? Which aren't too fond of boost so I'm told. And shatter like glass when they go.

What about the lightning one? Will it fit by chance?

Wow this post is old, but I'll respond to it and maybe you'll see it.

In order to make one of these chargers work you would need the 03 cobra manifold. And this would only bolt up to the 03 cobra heads, so it is not very feasible at all to do this with the 96-98 cobras, as they had two intake runners per cylinder as opposed to one like on the 99 and up DOHC heads.

Kenne Bell does make superchargers for the 96-98 but they are extremely expensive. Yeah its nice to have the low end of a twin screw blower but I can't justify the price.

Best bet would be look into a vortech or procharger centrifigul supercharger system. They are pretty cheap and easy to install. With stock bottom end, run no more than 8lbs of boost, get a conservative tune, and you WILL see over 400 rwhp. These cammers love forced induction.
