Depends how much power you're looking for. The easy answer is BOOST. Super or turbo, doesn't matter, but boost will give you the most power in one package. Superchargers are typically more readily available than a turbocharger for Mustangs.Something else to consider...head swap. Get ahold of the 99+ GT heads and intake; there's bound to be a few tech articles on actually performing the swap. That should get you about 30 more horses. Once the headswap is done, look into cams. Of course, little bolt-ons could also work...underdrive pullies, a good cold air induction, full exhaust...gearing is important too, as is traction. That's about all I can think of right off the top of my head. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '03 Mustang GT coupe '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good"

thanks for the advice, boost is always the first easy answer. the heads, intake, tb, and cams are the harder things to find a good combo for stock and after market.

Aftermarket 4.6L parts are definitely tricky to find...they aren't quite as abundant as a 5.0.For the heads, the only aftermarket pieces I've noticed are usually for racing applications. Haven't really noticed any street heads in the aftermarket. But as mentioned above, if you just snag the stock heads off a 99-04 GT, maybe have some work done on them, that should help a pretty good amount. The intake...a popular swap for the GTs is the Bullitt intake. Get that bad boy ported and polished, and you should easily see about 15 horsepower from that. Cams...that's a plus area. Comp, Crane, and Sean Hyland Motorsports are make good cams for the 4.6. SHM's cams are the most expensive, however...but will result in good gains. You're mostly paying for the name there. Comp's cams would probably be a more affordable solution. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '03 Mustang GT coupe '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good"

Glad to be of some help for you. Don't get too discouraged when it comes to these engines, it is certainly possible to build a monster of a motor out of these things. Just takes some looking.I don't usually mention other forums (just out of respect I guess), but you may also wanna check out modularfords.com; the guys over there are all about the mod motors...so they could get even more in-depth with you than I could. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '03 Mustang GT coupe '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good"
