Hmm...interesting. Hope he's got cheap access to parts; otherwise he probably could've just bought new.

I saw one similar when the "Terminators" first came out. It was a coupe out in Oklahoma. If I remember correctly, it basically needed a new front clip, and probably suspension work...only wanted $8K for it. I had pondered the feasibility of picking something like that up for that price.

Just bought new? That's like a $43k car new!

It doesn't need many parts, probably 2k worth or so. Plenty of TLC.

That's cool...hopefully it's just the panels that are tweaked. And yeah, I know they're pricey new...

Nice color too.

Ahem.....$43K car??????? Don't think so. We've got two brand new 2003 Cobras on the lot right now minus rebates for right at $28K. Hope your Pop doesn't get stung too bad. I've seen alot of these "rebuilders" and if he's just buying it to fix and sell, that could be quite a challenge. If he's buying it to fix and keep, then he'll probably be in good shape.

I stand a bit corrected, the MSRP 'base' price for the 03 Cobra 'vert was $38k.

My dad does this for a living, this is the 6th wrecked Mustang he's bought this year. Don't worry about us, thanks for your concern. I'm sure it will be for sale eventually after he drives it a few months. Its not unusual for him to have buyers for his wrecks before they are even done, because of reputation. A salvage title hurts value but also means you get a great deal on a car that is good as new except for the branding.

Can't wait to see it done!

I don't know, after driving it for a while, he may wanna hang on to it. I know just riding in one made me want one so bad.

You'll have pictures of the finished product, won't you?

He's got too many toys already, but it will be tempting!

Yeah I will be sure to put up some photos when its done. But there's an 03 white V6 coupe that just got back from the frame shop that needs to go first.
