I noticed in the new Mustang brochure that a new color for the '04 Mach 1 is Competition Orange. I wanted to see one so I spotted this one on ebay:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=6236&item=2441307989 I like it! ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '70 Mustang Convertible - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150

I think I saw a Screaming Yellow GT about a week ago on the highway. I never caught up with it (stupid slow-crawling traffic), but it definitely wasn't Zinc Yellow, and it didn't have the wing of a '99 on the trunk, so I just assumed it was a 2004 Screaming Yellow GT.SY is probably pretty cool too...never really cared for Zinc Yellow. Chrome Yellow was real nice. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '03 Mustang GT coupe '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good"

I saw one last night parked outside a Doctors office here locally with the temp Dealer plates still on it. "WOW..." I guess his Mid-life crises just kicked in?The Competition Orange color looks so slick on it that the car musta been doing 100mph standing still, honest, it was. I have a question though, why did Ford use the revered "Mach 1" name on this last year of the body style and not wait until the new body for a killer retro mod ride? Are there plans for a new Mach 1 in addition to a Cobra model on the all new platform?

lambone...the Mach 1 is available in 2003 and 2004. So the last 2 years of the current bodystyle's life. And it hasn't been uncommon in the past for Ford to stick a special package onto a last-run body to try to boost sales, generate interest or whatever. Something we'll never really know "why." The 1978 King Cobra. The 1993 Cobra, and Cobra R, etc. Also, rumors are stirring that since Carroll Shelby has signed back on with Ford and working with Team Mustang, could there be a 2006 Shelby Mustang in the works??? There was also talk of a Boss Mustang for the new bodystyle when it comes out. I would've liked to have known how that would've worked, since Boss Mustangs are still made...a la aftermarket, like Saleen or Roush, but they're still made. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '03 Mustang GT coupe '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good"

Maybe they are bringing back the "Boss" name for 2005s?

That's just it though...the Boss name never really went away. Shinoda's company still makes Boss Mustangs, in an aftermarket fashion similar to Roush or Saleen. So how can it be "brought back" if it never went away? I guess if Ford brings production in-house or something? ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '03 Mustang GT coupe '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good"

Aren't the Shinoda Bosses just decal packages?

I saw an orange one the other day at Wal-Mart and had to circle back around to be sure. It was definately a Mach 1 with all of the trimmings and it WAS orange. I'll say this, I always hated the color of orange on a car (maybe I associate it with the hugger orange camaros of the 60's), but on this bodystyle it just looked so right! I thnk it looked very good in that color, wonder what other colors they came out with for 2004?
