Ain't they cool? Wish I could get one myself. Last year during my trips to the local drag strip, there was a guy who made a couple appearances with his '03 Cobra convertible. Best I saw him turn with that was a 13.07. All stock...I think he said he lowered it some, but that was about it. He claims he could've done better, but he kept missing a shift (hmm). And I've seen videos online of those things just walking away from competition. One was a Camaro SS...had that sucker by about 3 car lengths...another was a turbo'd GN...utterly spanked that car... ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

I have an 03 vert yellow and when I first got it all the GM boys tried, but bone stock it ate up WS-6s and now I guess the secrets out as they wont even look over any more. They are too quiet so I put Magna-flow cat back on and love it.I know someone who did a pulley, chip and full exhaust and puts down close to 500 to the wheels!!He can race most cars with his A/C on.

Hey Radride, you see the recent issue of Mustang Monthly? They do a feature on the '03 Cobra...and say you can get 11.99 for $1,199. Some company (I forget the name right now) has put together a package that will bump the power up...basically what your buddy has done, but adds a cold air induction into the mix as well. Smaller pulley, cold air induction, exhaust, and a custom-tuned chip. Said some people with that setup are turning mid-11s with it.I'm still waiting for that bag of cash to fall in my lap so *I* can go get one. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

Well since this is my wifes daily driver I thinks Ill leave it just like it is.The thing puts down 380 to the wheels with just cat back thats plenty to take care of most stock cars and a lot of modded ones, and all it takes is a friendly banker as you cant take it with you might as well enjoy it while I can.

Thanks Scott...I read the article thoroughly, but couldn't recall the company name. Radride, I guess that makes sense. It's pretty menacing in it's stock form anyway. How many production vehicles for $35K can turn a sub-13 second 1/4 mile? ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

It's more like 12.5 for $1199 but its still fun. Some guy in a vette today egged me on and then gave me the bird after I handed him his lunch. I'm having a hard time feeling simpothetic.

The 03' Cobra's are pretty sick. A guy I know is a chevy guy, all into F-Bodys and stuff like that. He talked trash until he drove an 03' Cobra. It's a world of differnce when you go from a Tran-Am that runs a 14.7 in the quarter and then you drive the Cobra that pulls mid 12's easily off the showroom floor. The other night it was Mustang Night at Sac Raceway. There were 3 03' Cobras there, the fastest was 12.2, the slowest was 12.5, all with minor modifications. Ford has finally stepped up!
