my son is looking for a mach 1. the dealers around here are hitting him at msrp and above. i have not shopped for a new car in a while and just wondered if this was the norm on these cars? thanks, mike------------------

I doubt the dealers will sell the Mach 1s for much below MSRP, unless you've got the hook-up from one of the Ford plans.They start at $28K, and you have two options...get the interior appearance upgrade, and an automatic transmission. Even with those two options, you shouldn't be paying much more than $30K. If they're asking more, they're tacking on their silly "dealer markup" (what a load of hooey) and trying to get more out of you. To that, I'd say RUN. ------------------

thanks frank, he found one in daytona, fl. for $27,500. i am trying to talk him out of it because i think it is a rip off when dealers overcharge for a car just because the make them scarce!! you would think they learned their lesson with the t-bird. of course we all know that ford motor co. dont give a shyt about us or their dealers.
i was in the business when they were gouging people on the probes and look where they are now.------------------

I got mine at $1,020.CDN below MSRP. I factory ordered it on Oct 2nd, and took delivery on Dec 20th. Things may have changed now that we are further into the production year, but they should still be available at or below MSRP if you shop around.I would suggest that it is worth the effort to get one. I love mine.  BTW, Ford will be producing a smaller quantity for 2004, so there is always that option. Good luck! ------------------

In keeping with the theme of prices here...Seems GTs aren't getting any cheaper. If one is a Mustang enthusiast, one would be better off shelling out the couple extra thousand for a Mach or Cobra now. Checking out GTs at the local dealers the past few days, seems that brand new GTs START at $25K and go up to $30K. Unreal. ------------------

well he got it. dang it's pretty. white w/black stripe and black hood scoop. feels pretty strong. course it wont ever beat my 302!!! hehehe------------------
