A few posts below I describe that my 97 GT wanders to the right.
I bought 17" GT rims and tires with more than 50 percent wear remaining from ebay.
Mike had a tire store mount and "balance" the wheels on the car. It wandered, so Itook it in for alignment to another place owned by a work acquaintance. They said they checked everything out as far as alignment and brakes to try to figure out why it wanders. No problems discovered.
The car also wandered before these tires because the previous tires were worn uneven due to my fault of having driven with low tire pressure.
Well, I took the car to a friend in our Mustang club who is a Ford tech at a dealership. I was having problems with the passenger power window and also mentioned the problem with wandering to him.

Well he discovered the tires were not balanced and cannot be balanced because they are out of round from having sat apparently for a lenghty time.
So it was at two different tire stores and neither one could figure this out!
So today I'm going to buy new tires and it won't be at either one of those places! GRRRR!
I'm a little PO'd at the ebay seller, but really didn't pay too much more for the tires than what I've seen the wheels alone going for. So I don't feel really ripped off in that department. I needed tires anyway.

J.

Whoa...I've never heard of a *tire* being out of round, but it makes sense if it sits too long. Dang. Learn something new every day.

Glad that the problem's been solved for ya. Get those new sneakers soon!

An out of round tire will give you balance problems, but it won't make it pull to a side.

How does it do with the new tires?
