Okay, figured I'd start a little lively conversation. I asked a similar question a while back in the II forum, maybe it'll work here as well.Could be a few things for me. Late '93/Early '94 was the timeframe in which I started to learn how to drive. I had taken a liking to Mustangs, and at the same time I was taking driving classes, I learned Ford was coming out with a redesigned Mustang. I saw it, and thought it really looked nice. I knew I couldn't afford one though back then...still in high school, didn't even have a real job (well, I was delivering newspapers)...besides, I was looking for an older Mustang anyway at the time. The overall design of the '94s was so sleek and sharp...at the time, it really did throw back to the classic design a bit...they put the pony back in the grille, the tri-element taillights were more prominent, and the side scoops made a return (a classic design trait as well). I'll admit, I wasn't too fond of the '99s initially. I thought they were too edgy, the larger side scoops were overkill...the car just didn't seem right. I guess I had grown too used to the '94-'98s. I did really like the power increase for both the V6 and the V8 (who wouldn't?). But, I warmed up to them. And now, well, I own one. And now, with Ford introducing the nostalgic nameplates all over again on the Mustang (Bullitt, Mach 1), they're really doing a bang-up job with 'em. I'd have to say, in conclusion, that the power outputs and design really got my attention for the SN95s. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

I bought a brand new GT in 1983. Unfortunately a year later due to a financial crisis it went away. I swore someday I'd have another new GT. I never bonded with the Fox bodies after that because it hurt too much remembering the loss of the beloved 83. (However, the replacement for the 83 was a 65, and that has lead to good things too. So losing the 83 wasn't entirely bad.) Finally by the time the SN-95 came out finances were getting better. I wasn't too sure if I liked them when they first came out. They grew on me though. But we had many old classic stang projects by then. Finally, in 1997 I bought a long overdue replacement for the 83 and got a 97 GT. Now with the Bullitt I have both SN-95 body styles. J.

Actually I didn't like them when they first came out. Looked too much like a Camero for my taste. But I got a killer deal on a '96 GT Convertable and the look grew on me. I like the '99 plus look. Definitely doesn't look like a Camero anymore. But they took awhile to get used to also.

I liked the taillights on the 96 - 98 better than the 94/95. When the 99's came out, I didn't like them - I thought the taillights were too big for one thing. Then in October 2001, the time came for me to get a newer daily driver. I wanted a Mustang anyway, and I was having severe withdrawls since the '66 was out of commission at the time. John and I went looking and came up with three white (didn't want white, but my choices were white, white or white) Mustangs - a 99 and two 00's. I preferred the 99 because of the 35th anniversary badges and this particular car's 35th anniversary stripes on the rocker panels. The two 00's both had leather (a negative when you have a dog) and almost as many miles as the 99. Anyway, Anni, the 99, sits in my driveway and the looks of the 99 to present Mustangs has really grown on me. Not to offend anyone, but my body style prefrences are, in order, the orgiginal Mustangs, the big fat Mustangs of the early '70s, the SN-95's, the Fox bodies, finally the Mustang II.Carole ------------------ 66 Coupe, Arcadian Blue with standard blue interior C-code "Miss Stang" alias "Miss Cranky" 99 Coupe, Crystal White, palamino interior, with 35th anniversary badging and stripes, 3.8 liter, daily driver "Anni" MCA #45106 M&M #501 - got those 501 blues Vice-president Mustang Club of Tidewater 2001, 2002 & 2003 https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/ctastang.html
