ive got a 98 v6 . it has the AOD tranny. if im totaly out of the gas it shifts fine. when i accelerate it will hold onto 2nd gear before shifting even when i let off the gas, it still takes some time to shift. ive heard a few other people having this problem. any help with this would be great. ( ive already changed the filter and fluid , it helped it shift alot smoother but the problems still there)

Is this "flat footing" it or just a regular off the stop light acceleration?Pedal to the metal take off on the wifes 95 V6 is solid with good shifts but with the Overdrive "on" it seems "lazy". Don't remember if y'all with the 96 and up have the option to turn off the OD as on the 94 & 95's sam

Here's the interchange we had:Subject: Re: AOD tranny problem Date: Tue, 11 Feb 2003 18:44:56 -0500 From: Steve LaRiviere To: [email protected] References: 1 Yes, it's an electronically controlled tranny. Also, sometimes an engine problem masks itself as a wacky shifting tranny and you could spend a lot of time barking up the wrong trees.

94-95 have AODE tranny's 96 and up have 4R70W tranny'sHow many miles do you have on the tranny? I heard you can go to autozone and get the codes scanned for free. You can post at www.tccoa.com there is a guy there name Jerry who basically designed the 4R70W tranny. Hope this helps.
