I have a 2002 Mustang and the wheels are the stock ones and while I do want to get different ones, I really like the way the rims look...if only they were chrome. Does anyone know what type of rims look similar to the stock ones but with chrome? I have been looking at a lot of them but most of the rims look too "guy" for me. Thanks

The field is wide open for Mustang wheels. What type do you have on there now? Stock GT or stock Mustang?------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Be sure to remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, and Osborn Reproductions.

Do you have those Bullitt-style wheels? There are some aftermarket companies out there that make those in various colors...the stock charcoal, silver, black, and yes, chrome.OR, you could order a set of the originals, American Racing's Torq Thrust IIs. They're chrome, and basically what Ford patterned the GT Premium/Bullitt wheels after. If those aren't the wheels you are talking about though, I couldn't tell ya otherwise. Have you looked at http://www.tirerack.com ? ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

They are stock Mustang. I went on ebay and looked at some of the tires and wheels and it seems for chrome ones, usually they are about $300-600. Is that a good price? Would it be cheaper to order them from ebay or to get the bullit ones? I don't think I have those...or even know what they are.

Don't recollect what part of the country you are from, but you could try www.fiveomotorsport.com. I believe they are on the west coast. These are mostly Mustang GT wheel and tire combinations taken off new cars they've worked on, but the prices seem pretty good to me. Last time I looked I think they were offering some other cobra and saleen wheels for sale too. Good luck.------------------ Joe C. 2000 V6 Convertible

Thanks guys, I really appreciate all your help. My car is at the dealer (booooo) right now because of some minor flaws in the manufacutring. Has anyone else had this condensation problem with their headlights? It's pretty weird. Just curious. I will check out the wheel web sites you gave me.

I haven't had that problem, but I understand it's fairly common, particularly with the '01 and '02 models. Something about the adhesive of the lens to the housing...I forget exactly, but I've read about more than a handful of people having this problem.------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

I already had mine done and may need to do it again when I pull it out of hibernation next spring. Since it gets taken care of under warranty, and only takes a few minutes to do at my dealer's body shop, its just a minor inconvenience. If that's the worst problem I ever have with it than its only a minor nit to me. I understand its a common problem across the entire Ford line, due to the adhesive problems noted in the last thread.------------------ Joe C. 2000 V6 Convertible

Oh, ok. Do you think it's going to be a reoccurring problem, then? That sounds like fun. Okay, on to my next question...I found some stainless steel insterts for the Mustang indention on the bumper. They are lifetime parts and $70. Is that a normal price for something like that? Does anyone know where I could get them cheaper or would chrome look better on a black car? THANKS AGAIN. You guys are great!

Karen, Graphic Express has them for $25-30http://www.graphic-express.com/99-2003%20mustang%20embossed%20windshield.htm The black reflective sounds cool! http://www.graphic-express.com/Reflective%20Material%20Information.htm ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Be sure to remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, and Osborn Reproductions. There's some other place you can get 'em for $10. $70 is a bit steep...if it's that much, it better be real stainless steel, rather than stainless-steel-colored vinyl. I'll have to do some researching...apparently those things are popular with the V6 crowd. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

Karen - From what I understand, the problem is ongoing with the headlight situation(although not as widespread now) and will not permanently dissappear from the radar screen until either Ford changes their supplier, or the way their subcontractor makes them. Some of the M&M group work at dealerships and could probably shed more light on this, as this is all I've been told by my local dealer.------------------ Joe C. 2000 V6 Convertible

I had my headlights replaced last November when my car was only a month old. Now it is a little over a year old and only has 3,000 miles on it. It needs new headlight assmeblies agin. ------------------ JT 2001 BULLITT GT #3357, Dark Highland Green

Thanks again, you guys. I will check into the reflective decals, but are they just stickers or are they actual inserts? If the $70 ones are inserts, would that be an ok price? I checked and they are really stainless steel. I just want to be different, and it does seem a lot of people have the decals. To me, stainless steel inserts would look a lot cooler than the stickers...what do you guys think?

One thing I'd think of is that the stainless ones will have more mass, and be more likely to fall off. Then you'd have a MUST NG ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Be sure to remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, and Osborn Reproductions.
