What's up y'all?I just put some black flame gauges on my 99 GT, that I got from nu image, they look great, but that's not what this post is about. If anyone is interested in putting on a new gauge face on a 99 or newer Mustang an easy way to check that your tach and speedo are accurate is this. 1) hold down trip reset button (don't let go) 2) put key in and start (keep holding down) 3) finally after about 5 seconds of the car running the screen will do a gauge test, just let go of the button, to get to the other functions just press the button. I think this works w/ all fords w/ the digital odometer.

So what do you see on the cluster or idiot lights while the test is going on, how do you know when the test is done, and how can do you know the final test results? Also, in the event of a failed test, how do you know if you failed, and if yes, is a dealer visit dictated to correct a problem? A little more information on this would be great.------------------ Joe C. 2000 V6 Convertible

It's not really a test all it does is cycle the gauges to full then all the way back then back to their positions before the cycle. No dealer is required for any of this, to get out of the info stage on the odometer and back to normal, just turn you engine off. I believe you can change your speedo if you have different size tires but I don't know how to do any of that so I would leave that to a mechanic.
