If anyone has been following my attempts to put a new clutch into my 1996 GT, I'm sure you knew this post was coming. I have finally decided to give up and let a mechanic do this job. I feel like such a FAILURE! I know for sure that I COULD do this job if I could only get the !#^&@$! transmission unbolted from the car! Apparently, the factory uses SPECIAL NUCLEAR-POWERED MATTER/ANTIMATTER TITANIUM impact wrenches to bolt the transmissions onto the cars, because my impact wrench can't even budge the bolts AT ALL, even at full air pressure! It's absolutely incredible! Let this be a warning to all of you who think you can replace your own clutch on a SN95 Mustang. Prepare to meet some SERIOUSLY tightened bolts! Excuse me, I gotta go get a BANK LOAN now to cover the labor costs I will now have to pay. ------------------ *andy* ([email protected]) also known as...***Boss Hoss*** *1965 Mustang 289 coupe* *1996 Mustang GT coupe*

Why not just use a breaker bar? Don't give up, you don't accomplish anything that way. When I go to war with a car, it sometimes gets ugly, but I always get my man! {bolt?} ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Be sure to remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, and Osborn Reproductions.

Steve, I have tried my breaker bar, believe me! I took my biggest bar and put my entire body weight behind it. I leaned so hard that you could see my socket extension shaft twist! The bolts didn't even budge one tiny bit. I am now convinced that there is just no way I could possibly get those bolts off. I will go ahead and let someone else have this headache for me. I appreciate your help, but I must wave the flag of defeat on this one. ------------------ *andy* ([email protected]) also known as...***Boss Hoss*** *1965 Mustang 289 coupe* *1996 Mustang GT coupe*

Andy,I know what you mean. They definately do not want us working on our own cars anymore. But it is good for their business. SteveW
