Anyone here purchase an extended warranty from Ford or one of the outside warranty companies. What are your opinions of outside warranties. My wife's 200 GT is getting close to the 36,000 mile point and I am considering doing this. What are the pros and cons.------------------ Scott Akom 65 Coupe (Modified) 68 Coupe (Son's) 2000 GT Conv. Yes, Peg and I bought a Plan from Allstate and during the life, which has now ran out and we cannot re-new it (3 years or 85,000 miles), rec'ved excellent service and payments from it.In Fact the Ford Dealership was impressed with it and anytime we had the 95 in for service gave her a look to see if anything was need covered by the warranty. sam

The best plans are from FoMoCo. The ESP's are pretty much carte blanche and cover related damage. I always recomended that my friends purchase only warraties that are offered by the delivering dealers franchise. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA/MCA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." I'm with Moneymaker on this one. I've heard horror stories from co-workers who did not purchase an extended warranty from Ford directly. Have never had any problems with my Ford ESP's on either of the two Fords I have. I used to be against extended warranties, but I've always broken even or come out ahead in the end. ------------------ Joe C. 2000 V6 Convertible

Guys all I can say is that Allstate plan was a deal..They even replaced the MACH 460 front speakers that were rattling a little, a Drive seat Track that broke all paid in full nothing out of pocket. The 95 now has 85,0000 miles on it and If they would let me I buy another 3 year plan sam
