Hello All,
I'm new to this board, it seems like a great place.
I have a '96 GT convertible 5-spd I just acquired, with a T-45 tranny, I believe. I don't care for the stock shifter (too long a throw), and was looking at putting in an aftermarket such as a Steeda Tri-Ax.

Does anyone have any experience replacing one? I'm wondering how involved a job it is, and how difficult is it for a novice to do? Are any special mods or other components needed? And how much is the improvement?

Just wondering--Thanks

Easy easy install. 4 bolts and some black silicone. Take out the old one and bolt in the new one. Adjust the lock nuts and go. I have the Tri-Ax with the shifter at the shortest level and it is great. Well worth the money.
