How do I remove the side scoops on my 97 GT? I want to clean out and repaint the insert as it has become ugly and faded.

Step 1: put both hands gently onto opening. Step 2: apply firm outward pressure until popping and cracking is heard. i crack myself up ------------------ Max -1989 Mustang GT (MaxTang) 225/50R15 tires BBK Strut Brace K&N Filter 4 cats, no muffs 180* stat Member 1,861 "My Best Friends Are My Dog, and My Car" [This message has been edited by Boss302 (edited 08-25-2002).]

Most likely you have to take the interior trim panel out and that will give you access to the studs. I don't have a manual on those year cars, but that's most likely what you're looking at.------------------ All Fords since 1977!

You need to take out the back seat and the interior trim panels. From my experience the seat bottom was the only tricky part since I didn't understand how it was attached. Gently pull up on the front edge of the upholstery of the seat bottom about 1/3 of the way in from the side and look for a white clip. Push in the little button to release the seat cushion. Removing the rest is pretty straight forward disassembly. Happy Mustanging!!!------------------ Dave 68 Coupe, 289, restomod in process 68 GT Fastback, resto in process 97 Cobra .vert, daily driver
