How do I remove the side scoops on my 97 GT?
I want to clean out and repaint the insert as it has become ugly and faded.

Step 1: put both hands gently onto opening.
Step 2: apply firm outward pressure until popping and cracking is heard.

Most likely you have to take the interior trim panel out and that will give you access to the studs. I don't have a manual on those year cars, but that's most likely what you're looking at.

You need to take out the back seat and the interior trim panels. From my experience the seat bottom was the only tricky part since I didn't understand how it was attached. Gently pull up on the front edge of the upholstery of the seat bottom about 1/3 of the way in from the side and look for a white clip. Push in the little button to release the seat cushion. Removing the rest is pretty straight forward disassembly.
Happy Mustanging!!!
