I parked next to a 96-98 Mustang that had special side stripes and badgin indicating it was a "Special Edition". All I could tell was it was a V6 with SVT Cobra R Style wheels. Anyone know anything about these "Special Edition" Mustangs?

I saw a Camry the other day with "collector's edition" stickers on it. Anybody with a lack of taste can put crap like that on their car. Also, dealers or groups of dealers will sometimes badge a bunch of a particular model. Up here, they had a "Northwest Edition" F150 a few years back. Stripes and wheels. Woo hoo.

I'll bet those stickers make it go faster too In any case, it makes it special to THAT person. I like mine without all the stickers...

I have a '99 V6 with stripes on the rocker panels. The stripes read Mustang 35th Anniversary (I think it was a dealer installed option). The fender badges on (I think) all V6 '99's have a circle stating 35th anniversary with the running horse inside. What exactly did the car you saw say on it? By the way, I feel that her stripes make her unique instead of looking like every other white SN95 on the road. I don't think the stripes make her go faster Carole ------------------ 66 Coupe, Arcadian Blue with standard blue interior C-code "Miss Stang" alias "Miss Cranky" 99 Coupe, Crystal White, palamino interior, with 35th anniversary badging and stripes, 3.8 liter, new daily driver "Anni" MCA #45106 M&M #501 - got those 501 blues Vice-president Mustang Club of Tidewater https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/ctastang.html

Here's a bit of a help...'94 and '95 had horizontal taillights. '96-'98 had vertical taillights. '99-'00s are similar to each other, but '99 has the 35th Anniversary badge on the fender. '00 doesn't. Starting in '01, all Mustangs got smoked headlight lenses. GTs of those years got the raised hood scoops and side scoops. And now, in 2003, the V6 has the hood off a '99 Cobra.

Definitely not a 35th anniversary edition.Definitely 96-98 model year. It had the Mustang side stipes just above the rocker panel and small rectangular badges on each fender and the trunk lid. Black with siver letters. All they said was "Special Edition".
