My wife's GT is getting to the point where I want to change the spark plugs. Anyone here done it yourself on the mod motor. It looks like the whole fuel rail must come off before you can even get to the coils. Is this even a do-it-yourself project. I don't want to screw up the fuel rails. ------------------ Scott Akom 65 Coupe (Modified) 68 Coupe (Son's) 2000 GT Conv. (Wifes) 1987 GT Conv. I haven't tried this myself, but I've heard horror stories from others that have. I've even heard that if you're not careful, some types of plugs will create their own 'threads' in the aluminum block. How true those stories are, I don't know, but it makes me rethink swapping my plugs.Anyone actually done this themselves? Pictures would be nice huh? I'll see what I can dig up. ------------------ Mike M&M Member #9 2001 Bullitt #172 Dark Highland Green "Is that Black Charger following me?"

100K miles already? Or are the V8s different? And I haven't heard anything pretty either...one guy even suggested the engine has to be dropped to get to the plugs!! How true that is, I don't know, but this is coming from my mechanic who used to have a '96 Cobra. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

I can get to the plugs on my 2000 without removing the rails. The plugs are at an angle away from the rail. Actually, it's not a bad job.

The car doesnt really have that many miles on it, just 30,000. I just felt it might be time to at least check them. The fuel rail is in the way of removing the individual coils which I understand are on top of each plug.------------------ Scott Akom 65 Coupe (Modified) 68 Coupe (Son's) 2000 GT Conv.
