Yeah she bought it today, picks it up Monday. It's a v-6 w/5speed and a/c and its got 64,000 miles. Should be a good reliable commuter right? Any thing we should know about the 3.8 v-6 engine or the '95s?SteveW

Don't overheat it. I think there was a timing cover recall for water leakage on the 95-96 models. ------------------ -Charlie Ping 1970 Maverick Grabber [email protected] with AC and overdrive. http://www.maverickgrabber.com

Make certain that she gets a service contract for the power train Steve. Unless you feel like changing the head gaskets yourself. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 US Class Nationals link

I'll second that head gasket comment. Seems those mid-90s 3.8L engines had a problem with head gaskets. My dad's '95 Windstar 3.8 blew it's head gaskets back in November '00...he just went and replaced the whole engine though, since it clocked over 160K miles.------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

Yeah,It's had a couple recalls taken care of and even new head gaskets last year and it only has 64,000 on it. Other than that should it be good to go? SteveW

I got drove it yesterday, and it is a fun little car. It's not a "hot rod" but it handles well and is pretty fun with the 5 speed. The woman she bought it from is a BATF special agent She was pretty cool and confident. The car was garaged for three years while she was at the "academy" getting her training. Melissa's pretty jazzed and glad that she doesn't have to drive the 300zx Nissan that I bought her for a commuter car. Does anyone wanna buy a 300zx? SteveW

I like the look of the 300. I'd buy a turbo 6 for an everyday car if I had some cash. Even early 90 models are expensive. Oh well.

Steve I had that 3.8 in a '94 Continental... loved it...26 mph on the interstate...and it topped out at 107 MPH on the computer, and got there with no sweat, in a lot heavier car... But my body, who is in the ENGINE business says, they're good, but head gaskets do go when you start pushing 100K. But there's a million 5.0's out there, begging for a TRANSPLANT & GOOD FAMILY. Best of luck to Shirley Mul....sorry I mean Melissa.------------------ EDDIE D Resto Mod '70 Sport Roof Arrest Me Red '02 GT, Torch Red "If I knew I would have lived this long, I would have taken better care of myself !"
