A friend of mine is looking at buying a 94 convertible mustang that was in an accident. It was hit in the front not too hard, but hard enough for the airbags to deploy. What do we have to do to take care of this? The owner wants $2300 for it, and it is going to need a new hood and fender, but thats about it, other than the airbag situation. I have never dealt with them. Help!

I believe you'd have to take it to a Ford dealer, and they'd put a new airbag in. IIRC.------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

Airbags are nothing special, just another part on the car. I just removed/replaced the driver's airbag on my car to replace the "clock spring assembly". There are several sensors on the front of the car that might need to be replaced. If you turn on the key the air bag light will blink codes. These codes should tell you which swithes are bad. There are several web sites that tell what these codes mean.
