Hi, I'm brand-new to this forum, and to building Mustangs. I have a quisk question, that I would appreciate some help with. I'm just starting to build my '01 GT. First mods are underdrive pulleys, C&L MAF, New Throttle Body and soon an new exaust (thinking Bassani X-Pipe??) My question is this: Would it be completely stupid of me to not swap the headers? They look like a beast to remove! I;m thinking I would need to rock the motor off the mounts to get to them. Any feedback or suggestions? This is a daily driver, but I would like to build to 325+ horses. Thanks!

The headers are definately worth it. My car dynoed at 256 RWHP and 300 RWTQ. I have a Steeda underdrive pulleys, 2000 long block, 87mmm Pro-m, long-tube headers and a JMS chip on my 96. The headers are good for at least 20 RWHP. No other single bolt-on even comes close. They can be put on from under the car. The steering shaft must be disconnected and it is easier with motor off the motor mounts. Shorty headers are probably not worth the effort.

I have a friend here with a '01 GT. All he has is bass. off road pipe, weld on 2-chamber delta flowmasters, a cold air kit, and a Diablo chip. His car made 255 rwhp, and a little over 300 rwft. And that is with the stock cast exhaust manifolds.

Hey, btw, I saw on Stangnet that someone had started a group purchase on JBA headers, you might want to check that out.
