If I install this shift kit, will it allow me to manually shift at whatever RPM I want? Just trying to solve my shift point problems without getting a chip burned. Thanks!

I doubt it, usually they still allow it to upshift on it's own and to block out downshifts to prevent trans damage, unless it uses a full manual valve body.

Correct, racers?

Ever wonder why they call it 'dogma?'

Just to update, I bought a superchip a couple weeks ago in anticipation of getting 3.73's installed when Alex settled down after the season. I got into an accident, so the $500 I saved is going for my deductable and the ticket I got Luckily I got the chip from through a friend of a friend, so I just had him put it back to the stock set-up without an extra charge. I haven't been to the track to see what the difference is, but first impression is that it has made a huge difference in shifts and overall performance. It shifts at 5,500 rpm (which I still think is 500 too high) which sends her into second and third really nice and strong. When launching from a stop sign the tires spin for quite some distance (which it didn't do before with the tires in the same shape) and when going hard into second on any kind of incline, the tires break free to the point of sendng the *** end into a small fishtail. They claim I added 20hp, which who knows, but as for the adjustments to the tranny, I really dig it. A dyno tune at a place that sells the superchip would be optimum, but she is a daily driver so why spend the money. As I said, gears are next, then full exaust and pully's. Once she is paid for I can then take my payment and start doing some wild stuff to it. Maybe by then there will be as much aftermarket stuff as the 5.0 has.
