Like I said...all new to me...would a set of Eibach (spelling ???) lowering springs affect the ride or handling????? Is changing the springs labor intensive ??? Is there anything else that has to be changed or tweeked after installing the 4 springs,,,,or is it just replacing the springs???? Thanks..... Oh one more thing...can I expect the 1 1/4 inch drop that they advertise...and does anyone recommend another brand ????------------------ EDDIE D Resto Mod '70 Sport Roof Arrest Me Red [This message has been edited by 70 Pony (edited 10-21-2001).]

If you're just replacing the springs, I keep hearing your handling will improve, but the ride will get a little harsher. The way around that is to also replace the shocks/struts at the same time. That way, you improve handling without sacrificing the ride quality.------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

Eibach or Steeda springs. Bilstein or Tokico springs. I have non-adjustable Tokicos on my Saleen which is lowered about 3" and it rides pretty well. The fact that the Saleen racecraft system lowers the car so much, makes it hard for me to compare. ------------------ Randy Thornton Boss 302 & Saleen S281

Can (or do) people just lower the front 1 1/2 inches to give it a more aggresive look? Sorry to piggy back on your question Eddie, I just figured because you were on the subject I would save a little thread All this stuff if very new to me too, so keep the questions coming!

I agree with Randy on the Eibach, Steeda, and Bilstein, but I've never been fond of Tokico's.Don't get me wrong, I've heard good things about them, but when I had the suspension done on my Crown Vic, the tire shop tried to talk me into staying with the Tokico's they put on, instead of the Koni's I wanted (they were on back order). I HATED the ride with the Tokico's. There was a HUGE difference after the Koni Red's went on. Stewart

Boy Stew...you let a bunch of "grease monkeys" talk you out of what you wanted..... You're easy...but guess what, I'm the same way. I think me and you better learn how to say "NO !!!" fast.

No, I didn't! The Tokico's came as a package with the Eibach springs I wanted, but I also had them order the Koni red's for the Crown Vic. The springs (and Tokico shocks) came in, but the Koni's were on back order, and wouldn't be in for another two or three weeks. So, while waiting for the Koni's to arrive, they installed the Eibach springs along with the Tokico's. THAT'S when they tried to talk me into keeping the Tokico's. I told them "no" before I even drove the Vic after the install, and then told them "HELL NO" after driving the Vic after the install. Don't get me wrong, there is a vast difference between the Mustang chassis and the Crown Vic chassis...and the Tokoco's may very well work great with the Mustang...but I'll never have them on any car I own. BTW, that was back in '96. I've since found a much better tire shop. A shop where they have integrity and stand behind their work. And they have quite a bit of experience too. It's a shop where both brothers started out by building hot rods in their garage, and now they have their own business. They have employee's turning wrenches, but at the end of the day, you wouldn't be able to tell who had more dirt and grease on them...the owners or the employee's. Stewart

Ford is putting the Tokicos on the Bullitt. You get what you pay for. Cheapest = Tokico, MidRange = Bilstein, Highest = Koni reds.------------------ Randy Thornton Boss 302 & Saleen S281

I have Eibach drag springs on my 01 GT. They will lower your ride about 1 1/2 to 2 inches at the most. They ride about the same as the factory ones, but they launch a heck of a lot better that before. I am pulling 2.09 60's on street tires. The kit comes with front and rear springs(of course), and a air bag for the rear right spring. This will eliminate your car trying to get sideways off the line. I am happy with mine. The kit is pretty much a universal one, so you really dont have to worry about them having one for your car for once! I am putting a set of Sprint Performance Springs on my 98 V6 Stang this is what the ad in California Mustang reads:SPRINT PERFORMANCE SPRINGS Improve your 1979-2001 Mustang's handling and looks with our new Sprint Lowering Springs. They'll drop your car up to 2" for an aggressive look and sticky cornering. Hot, blue powdercoat finish. Sold in sets of 4. Does anyone know anything about these springs? Are they any good? Will they really lower my car 2"? ------------------ 1998 V6 Saleen Mustang Underdrive Pulleys Dual Exhaust Flowmasters K&N Cold Air Intake Ported & Polished Upper Intake Lower Intake Saleen Front Fascia Cobra RR Hood

Sorry QC....I can't answer that one..never heard of them, but STEEDA Tech told me that their Sport Springs could lower them about 1 1/2 " and avoid other upgrades such as shocks and struts...... Randy Thornton seems to be the expert on this stuff...hopefully he'll respond.... It's PThornton....You can post your own question and I'm sure he;ll respond...------------------ EDDIE D Resto Mod '70 Sport Roof Arrest Me Red '02 GT, Torch Red

I went with the Eibach springs and KYB shocks on my '96. Get a set and do both springs and shocks at the same time, it'll save you time. Yes handling is improved. And the ride isn't too bad. Be warned. Once you lower the car, humps (and drops) in the pavement that you never noticed will become very real. Don't forget the offset bushings for the steering rack. ------------------
