Anyone know whether this combo will fly? I am exploring swapping out the V6 with a 351 stock motor and C6 if it will fit. Any feedback?

Yes and I don't know.

Yes, the 351W in an SN95 has been done many times.

I don't know if a C6 will fit into an SN95 though...most people have been going with Lentech or getting a built up tranny when they do an engine swap like that.

Let us know what you decide to do. Sounds like a great project.

Mike

Ok, what would be the best trani to use then with a 351W? Thanks in advance for the help.

Do you want to retain OD? If not, a pro-built C-4 is your best bet, plenty strong and uses about 20 less HP to spin. No OD really limits your choice or gears, though. Personally, I'd go with a pro-built AODE with a good converter. JMO, keep us informed.
BTW, if it's not too much detail, what's involved in the 351 swap, are you using a Ford crate motor, is it smog legal, anything else important.

Thanks!

LOL. I had a chance to get a free C4 yesterday. Oh, well. I have no idea. I was going to just throw it in and pray actually. Really though I am concerned about emissions. I figure if it can pass smog in a truck, it can pass smog in my 94. Might take racing gas to do it, but if it works, why not. :-)

Oh, forgot to mention. Not a crate motor. Just a rebuilt 74' 351W standard bore. It was $300 with a C6 (not rebuilt). I just took the Oil Pan off and am going over it to make sure I don't have to do an overhual myself. :-)
