How can you tell if your cats are stopped up? I don't have any codes on my computer, but my gas mileage is really bad and the car hesitates when I shift.

Ohhhhh, very good question. And I wish I knew the answer off the top of my head. I'll go dig around and see if the manuals give me any clues. Meantime.....anybody else have an answer?

Sluggish acceleration and low vacuum readings are the best giveaways.

it might be the O2 sensors as well, my bros 89 AOD had his gas mileage go down considerably and she seemed to be a little sluggish -- popped on a new set of Bosch sensors and all seemed to be fixed! I could be wrong though, have a good one

Try the o2 sensor too! O ya Put on straight pipes that will fix it
